Works beautifully for me. It may pay to change to default server to
something more accessable than a machine in the UK.

(I'm NOT going to tell you which archie server I use, I want to keep my good
service, it's on the list somewhere though).

The point and shoot ftp is a dream too.
Now all we need is about 10,000 simultaneous conenctions on wuarchive :).

I am currently running Windows 3.1 over Novell Netware (forget what version)
and it works with some minor glitches here and there.  :)  So yes, it can.

Apparently if you have pktmux you can configure (using icons calling batch
files) a system so that you don't have to use another TCP stack.  I prefer
using Trumpet Winsock, though, because it's easier to setup, easier to use,
and it's shareware.  Also, it seems to have the best support among Windows
applications, and would probably be your best bet.  I have never used
Chameleon, but if you don't want to pay that much for TCP/IP, Trumpet Winsock
apps, I believe, is the way to go.

Oh, and if Mr. Tattam is watching, I'll send my check for shareware
registration when T.W. comes out of beta.  *smile*

Announcement of SLIPLOG, an access-controlprogram for your slipgate

What it does:
 -polls the modem for incoming rings
 -switches to auto-answer
 -sends a greeting message to the caller
 -prompts for a password
 -switches to packetmode after a successfull login
 -logs all calls with time and date
 -can call- back the caller (increased security)
 -patches the slipdriver, so no packets ar send when not connected
  (this increases the stability of the gatesoftware and the modem)

SLIPLOG may be useful for any ibmpc-gatesoftware which uses packet-
drivers, but has been tested with ka9q-nos (nos192 and nos10b) only.

You may ftp it from:
mvmpc9.ciw.uni-karlsruhe.de (129.13.118.9) /public/nos/sliplog.zip
(ws_ftp-users should select 'ka9q' as servertype!)
